Makes enough sauce for two 12 inch pizzas.
28 ounce can of tomato sauce OR crushed tomatoes 1/2 cup water 2 teaspoons sugar 3/4 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon basil 1/2 teaspoon thyme 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 whole bay leaf 2 teaspoons lemon juice
Combine all into a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a boil then turn the heat down very low and simmer (stirring occasionally) for 30 to 45 minutes or until it cooks down to the consistency that you like in a pizza sauce.
When done, remove the bay leaf.
Let sauce cool before spreading on pizza dough.
