This is probably just the classic toll house cookie recipe, but it's the one we like and the one we use.
1 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 1/4 cups flour 6 ounce semi-sweet chocolate chips
preheat oven 350 degrees
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
In a separate bowl combine the salt, soda and flour. Add to the creamed mixture, mix well. Fold in chips.
Drop teaspoons full of dough onto ungreased baking sheet and bake for 8 or 9 minutes till edges of cookie are a nice golden brown.
Cool on the pan for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
