3 large egg WHITES 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 pound powdered sugar 1 Tablespoon cold water
In large mixing bowl beat the egg whites and cream of tartar at medium speed until they are frothy. Add half the powdered sugar (eyeball it) and mix in well. Then add the remaining powdered sugar and water, mix for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture is stiff and holds a peak. Add desired food coloring a few drops at a time till desired color is obtained.
This icing dries quickly, so keep it covered with a damp paper towel as you are working with it. Once you ice a cookie, ya need to get those sprinkles on there asap! heheh we just ended up dipping ours in the sprinkles to get them done quickly.
