This is not the traditional way of making alfredo sauce, but it's easy and it's good. We have this with grilled chicken and pasta one night, and use the leftovers next day to make chicken alfredo pizza.
1/2 cup butter 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 cups milk 6 oz. grated parmesan cheese pinch black pepper
Melt butter on medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with a wire whisk until smooth. Gradually add milk, keep on whisking. Stir in parmesan cheese and pepper. Keep on whisking! When the cheese has melted and the sauce reaches desired consistency, remove from heat. It thickens as it cools, add more milk to thin it a bit if you wish.
